COVID-19 & Massage

At Schultz Therapeutic Massage, the health and wellness of our clients, members and staff are our highest priority. As part of our commitment we are following all of the steps provided from the Center for Disease Control & Prevention when it comes to the Coronavirus to stop the spread of the virus and follow and extensive cleaning protocol and to help against the spread of bacteria and germs. However we can only do so much and it is partly up to our clients to follow simple steps to help.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

  • Stay home when you are sick.

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using an appropriate cleaning spray or wipe.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if they are visibly dirty.

As a massage therapist it is a contraindication for me to provide massage to anyone if you have cold or flu symptoms. This includes a cough, fever, runny or stuffy nose, chills and body aches that are not associated with every day aches and pains.

If you arrive at the office with even the most minor of these symptoms or appear to be "hiding" any symptoms you will be turned away immediately. I have in the past allowed clients with minor symptoms get a massage but according to the State Massage Board and the CDC this can no longer happen and arriving with these symptoms you are putting yourself and everyone you come into contact with at risk as well as the massage office and your therapist.

I often see people with low immune systems and the elderly or mothers with infants and these are the people who are at the most risk when it comes to this virus. Be safe, stay home and get well then reschedule when you can. At this time there will be no more cancellation fees should you need to cancel last minute due to illness.

For your massage session, when you arrive to the office please use the washroom to wash your hands, there is GermX on the counter for all clients and therapist to use.  Avoid hugging your therapist or offering hand shakes at this time. It is our responsibility as people to stay safe and healthy.

Important information regarding the online scheduler

  • When booking online please make sure to choose the correct session type. If you are using a Groupon Voucher please do not attempt to put your Groupon code in the Membership redemption code box.

  • If you have a Membership please book more than one session in advanced to guarantee a spot each month. If booking in advanced make sure that each booking is after the date in which your payment clears each month.  If you are finding it difficult to find a session time please contact your massage therapist.

  • If you are finding that the scheduler keeps bringing you to the top of the screen after clicking the next button it is because you forgot to fill out a question. Go over each box and give an answer. Each question must have an answer to continue.
